Meet Kelly

Founder & Head Trainer

Hi, I'm Kelly, the founder and head trainer at Olympia Dog Training. My journey into dog training began with my rescue dog, Ollie, who inspired me to help other dogs and their families achieve harmony and understanding. With a background in animal welfare and a degree in Journalism from Oakland University, I have dedicated my life to understanding canine behavior and educating dog owners.

I began my career at the Michigan Humane Society, working with neglected and misunderstood animals. This experience motivated me to find a different path where I could still save lives and help families. Through Olympia Dog Training, I strive to educate owners on responsible pet ownership and provide them with the tools to lead their dogs confidently and compassionately.

Our mission at Olympia Dog Training is to reduce the number of dogs rehomed due to behavioral issues by educating owners and providing effective training solutions. We believe that every dog deserves the chance to learn and thrive in a loving home environment.

Our Training Philosophy

At Olympia Dog Training, we believe in a balanced approach that combines positive reinforcement with clear, consistent corrections. Our training methods are designed to improve communication between dogs and their owners, increase motivation for training and overall listening, and to cultivate a healthy mind in dogs to improve their quality of life as well as that of their owner. We focus on building a strong foundation of obedience and promoting a healthy and appropriate dog-owner relationship fostering trust and understanding.
